A tricklingfilter or oxidationbed is such a kind of solidcarriertechnic  whereby the bacteriumlayer ( the mud ) is settled down on a packet with an area of about 200m2 per m3.

The polluted water is sprinkled over a tower of synthetic packets and runs along the bacteriumlayer which is attached to the synthetic. The packet has an open space of about 95% so the exchange of air, food and water will be optimal.

The tower can be built in all kinds of dimensions and the packets are so stable that a light structure will do.

Tricklingfilters have the following advantages:
  1. a simple construction and a simple process
  2. no moving parts
